Merlot DOC Friuli

After destemming the must with the skins is transferred into a stainless steel tank for starting the fermentation at a controlled temperature. After approximately 12-15 days skin contact, at the end of the alcoholic fermentation, the wine is ready to be aged for a long term (12-14 months) in stainless steel before the bottling.
Harvest: hand picking in small boxes.
Grapes conditions: perfectly mature at the picking time.
Picking Time: third week of September.
Grapes: this 100% Merlot is a blend of different clones: 348, F4, F6, 181, 184, R3, FV4. The blend of different clones allows to get a more complex wine.

Color: Intense ruby red.
Nose: complex, intense, berries, spicy.
Taste: velvety, hints of tobacco and liquorice, berries and chocolate

Very nice as an aperitivo, perfect weeding with fish pastas. Light cheese and simple salumi are a great option.
